Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position at a Level II Trauma, STEMI, and Stroke Center in Joplin, MO, requiring a minimum of 2 years of high-acuity ICU experience and active MO or compact RN license.

Details

  • 4 Medical ICU unit in a 24-bed hospital setting
  • Patient population includes medical, surgical, trauma, and stroke cases
  • Typical patient ratio of 1:2, with 1:1 or 1:3 depending on acuity and staffing
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12, 1900–0730
  • Weekends required as determined by facility needs
  • Standby call for low census with a 1-hour report requirement
  • Float to areas of clinical competence as needed
  • EMR: Epic (experience expected)
  • Equipment includes IV pumps, chest tubes, GE monitoring, Arctic Sun, glucometers, and feeding pumps

Requirements

  • Active MO or compact RN license required
  • Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a high-acuity ICU
  • Demonstrated ability to titrate complex IV drips including vasopressors
  • Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
  • No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provides care to complex patients at a Level II Trauma, STEMI, and Stroke Center
  • Ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, team-oriented, and quality-driven
  • Flu vaccination is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations and exceptions are not accepted
  • Black scrubs required; t-shirts and sweatshirts not approved by the facility are not permitted
  • Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
  • Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a 1-year separation or transfer outside the radius is required
