Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a high acuity Respiratory Care Unit stepdown role requiring 3 years of critical care experience with ventilator, trauma, and neuro patients.

Details

• Work in the ICU/Respiratory Care Unit stepdown unit
• High acuity patient population requiring ventilator support
• 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, with a max of 4:1 depending on staffing
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Travel pairs will not be considered

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
• Trauma and neuro experience required
• Degree from an accredited school required, or a degree from an FBON-approved institution plus 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience in a US hospital within the past 24 months
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a basic arrhythmia assessment, with a retake option if not scoring 100% on lethal rhythms
• Successful completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening required, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to high acuity respiratory patients requiring ventilator support
• Charge RN, SICU, MICU, trauma, and stroke experience preferred
• Smoke-free facility
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius considered at a lower rate than travel positions
• Former Broward Health employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools will not be accepted
