Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring PA or Compact RN licensure and prior critical care experience.

Details

• Work in the ICU department of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Rotating shifts or straight nights possible
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only accepted)
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and ventilator management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning
• Experience managing cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and IV insulin protocols
• SSN, DOB, and RTO required for consideration
• Background concerns must be disclosed prior to consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients including cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal cases
• Perform cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Follow infection prevention protocols including isolation precautions and PPE use
• Must be available to work every other holiday
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Travel pairs accepted based on facility need, though the same schedule cannot be guaranteed
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• First-time travelers may be considered as travel experience is not required
