Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for an ICU position requiring an active PA or Compact RN license and at least 2 years of ICU experience.

• Medical Intensive Care Unit setting within a hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• 13-week assignment length
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius as needed
• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Experience managing neurological conditions including CVA, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery care
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure management
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Two supervisor references preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to a medically complex ICU patient population
• Responsibilities include managing arterial lines, ports, and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
• Support for procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal and tracheostomy care
• Involved in emergency medication administration and response to cardiac/respiratory emergencies
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though the same schedule cannot be guaranteed
• First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for consideration
