Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an ICU position requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a GA or Compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
  • Cares for critically ill patients with a 1:2-3 patient ratio
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, arterial and central line care
  • Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Skilled in respiratory/thoracic care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and infection prevention protocols

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients, including cardiac, respiratory, and ventilator management
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of consideration
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous Piedmont Health employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Travelers who cancel or receive a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
