Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and an active RN license (ID or compact)

Details

• 10-bed Intensive Care Unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• Common diagnoses include heart failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, vented patients, GI bleeds, strokes, TPA, post-code, and pneumonia patients
• No specialty surgical or CRRT patients accepted by travelers
• RNs required to titrate drips including Propofol, Levophed, Dobutamine, vasopressin, Fentanyl, Epinephrine, and Diltiazem
• RNs required to read telemetry strips as there are no dedicated tele/monitor techs on the unit
• Uses Spacelabs monitoring equipment
• Respiratory Therapists in the ICU 24/7 with vents, high flow, and BiPap equipment
• Hospitalist on site 24/7 with Intensivist available via telehealth 24/7
• One CNA per shift; charge nurse does not take patients
• Admin Supervisor and Crisis Nurse available on site 24/7
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 7p-7a
• Weekend rotation as needed, aiming for every other weekend
• Holiday coverage required if there is a need
• No call or standby requirements
• Travelers scheduled first to float
• Floating required to Tele unit maintaining approximately 1:3 ratio, may take full assignment
• May also float to ICUs in Meridian and Boise
• No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests accepted
• 1 to 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation depending on experience

Requirements

• Active RN license (ID or compact) required at time of submission
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Must be a strong team player
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, both including employment dates and rehire eligibility

• Scrub color is flexible as long as attire is clean and professional
• Permanent employees of the facility must be separated from employment for at least one year before applying for this travel assignment
