Travel RN – ICU Job Description

Facility: St. Mark’s Hospital
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Unit: ICU (650)
Discipline: Registered Nurse – ICU
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 12-hour Days
Contract: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
 

Unit Details

• Unit: ICU
• Beds: 24
• Staff: 46
• Patient Ratio:
  • 1:2 typical
  • 1:3 for PCU boarders
  • 1:1 for sitters or higher-acuity patients
  • Higher acuity includes IABP, CRRT, and open-heart patients
• Documentation: EPIC
• Staffing: 1 CCT/US during day shift when census is 10 patients

‍⚕️ Requirements

• 2 years ICU experience required
• Strong candidates with 1 year ICU experience may be considered
• ACLS required
• ICU experience with:
  • Ventilators
  • Vasopressors
  • Arterial lines
  • Restraints
  • CRRT
  • IABP
  • Other critical-care skills

Procedures

• Central line placement
• Bronchoscopy
• Intubation / Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI)
• Arterial line placement
• Chest tube placement

Floating

• May float to PCU
• May float as a sitter anywhere within the inpatient hospital

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Straight days or 50/50 scheduling
• 3 weekend shifts per 4-week period
• No on-call requirement mentioned

Dress Code

• Caribbean Blue scrubs
