• Schedule Options: 3x12s or 4x12s
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800-$1,890
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Setting: High-acuity critical care environment
• Location: Coastal Virginia, near Virginia Beach and Norfolk

Job Requirements

• 3 years of critical care nursing experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• Current Epic experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Strong neuro critical care experience required, including post-neurosurgical and stroke care
• Comfortable with EKG rhythm interpretation and critical care testing requirements
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in an ICU or acute care hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside care to ICU patients with complex, rapidly changing clinical needs
• Monitor and manage ventilators, IV drip titration, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Recognize and respond quickly to dysrhythmias, emergencies, and changes in patient condition
• Care for patients with neurological, respiratory, renal, trauma, sepsis, cardiac, and post-surgical diagnoses
• Perform advanced critical care interventions such as arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and chest tube support
• Support patients requiring CRRT/CVVHD, EVD management, hypothermia protocol, and other specialized ICU therapies
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, compassionate patient care
• Float as needed to stepdown or holding areas while maintaining ICU-level standards of care
