• Shift Duration: 12-hour days
• Schedule: 3x12s or 4x12s
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Two of the three winter holidays
• Floating: Required to Stepdown; may also float to ED or Med-Surg to care for ICU patients being held
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890

Job Requirements

• Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 3 years of critical care nursing experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Strong neuro critical care experience required
• Experience with ventilator management, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia recognition/management
• Must be comfortable working with adult, adolescent, and geriatric patient populations
• Must not live within 50 miles of the facility
• No prior license or background hits accepted
• Fit testing must be clear; PAPR not available

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality ICU nursing care for critically ill patients with complex medical needs
• Monitor and manage neuro, respiratory, renal, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis, MODS, and cardiac patient populations
• Perform ventilator management and support patients requiring advanced respiratory interventions
• Titrate IV drips and vasoactive medications per protocol
• Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias, emergencies, and changes in patient condition
• Support conscious sedation and advanced monitoring needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Float as needed to Stepdown or other appropriate units to support ICU-level patients
