Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with Cerner charting experience and prior travel assignment history to work in both IMC and ICU units.

Details

• Hospital-based ICU and IMC (Intermediate Care) unit assignment
• 3x12 Day and Night shift options (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required, totaling 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) in a six-week period
• Uses Cerner EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license: Compact or MD license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience within the last 7 years
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
• Flu vaccine required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across both ICU and IMC units
• Skills utilized include IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Respiratory care skills include ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube care, and ABG interpretation
• Cardiac monitoring responsibilities include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Additional clinical focus areas include wound care, IV insulin protocols, post cardiac catheterization care, and renal/dialysis management
• Candidates with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• First-time travelers are not eligible; at least one prior travel assignment is required
