Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU/IMC position requiring 2 years of ICU and IMC experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

  • Work in the ICU and IMC units of a hospital environment
  • Traveler will float between IMC, ICU, MS, and ED units as needed
  • 13-week contract assignment
  • 3x12 Day and Night shift options (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30)
  • Every other weekend required, totaling 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) within a six-week period
  • Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license required (MD state license or Compact license)
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience within the last 7 years required
  • Minimum 2 years of IMC experience required
  • At least one completed travel assignment required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
  • Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
  • References must support at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to ICU and IMC patients, including cardiac monitoring, ventilator care, and management of vasoactive drips
  • Skills utilized include central line and PICC line management, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care, and wound care
  • Cardiovascular care experience including post cardiac angiogram, pre/post cardiac cath, and cardiac drip management
  • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius accepted at a lower pay rate
  • Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are not eligible; prior travel assignment experience is required
