Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel contract requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.
Details
- ICU setting at a community hospital
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Multi-specialty ICU coverage including Medical, Surgical, and Neuro ICU environments
- Floating within scope of practice required based on facility need
- Labor Day and weekend rotation required
- EMR: Meditech Expanse (experience strongly preferred)
- Local candidates accepted at the local rate; must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license in hand prior to start — pending licenses are not accepted
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Certifications preferred: CCRN, CMSRN, or RN-BC
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Travel experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- LTAC experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and TPN/Lipids
- Experience with ventilator management, CVVHD/CRRT, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
- Driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Care responsibilities span a broad critical care scope including renal, respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, GI, and endocrine/metabolic conditions
- Experience with complex procedures such as ICP monitoring, EVD management, LVAD/RVAD care, renal transplant, and liver transplant is highly relevant
- Holiday availability must be confirmed prior to placement
- RTO requests spanning more than one week are not accepted
- Pre-start online modules are required for facility clearance and take approximately 1–2 hours to complete
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
