ICU Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU Travel Nurse Job in Baltimore, MD

  • Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
  • Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Hours Per Week: 36
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,850 - $1,950
  • Orientation: 24 hours
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: As scheduled
  • Floating: May float within specialty as needed
  • On-Call: May be required

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission
  • 2 years of Neuro ICU or high-acuity ICU experience required
  • First-time travelers may be considered with strong Neuro ICU experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • CPI and NIHSS preferred
  • Experience with Epic preferred
  • Comfort working with adults and geriatrics in a critical care environment
  • Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:2, with up to 1:3 for stable, lower-acuity patients

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nursing care to patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions
  • Monitor and respond to changes in neurologic status with frequent assessments and critical thinking
  • Care for patients with diagnoses such as stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, SAH, TBI, seizures, cerebral edema, and post-craniotomy recovery
  • Manage advanced ICU therapies including ventilators, arterial lines, central venous access, EVDs, ICP monitoring, and continuous EEG monitoring
  • Administer and titrate vasoactive drips, sedatives, and other critical care medications per protocol
  • Collaborate closely with neurology, neurosurgery, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehab, and rapid response teams
  • Support procedures and treatment plans for high-acuity neurocritical care patients
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered environment while adapting to changing acuity needs
