Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Surgical ICU position specializing in liver care and transplant patients, requiring Level I trauma experience and Epic charting proficiency.

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit specializing in liver care and transplant patients
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required, no exceptions
• BSN preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• 2 professional references required
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, CRRT/CVVHD, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and post-op surgical care

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to post-surgical liver transplant patients in a Level I trauma teaching hospital setting
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront for manager approval, with no time off granted during the first week of the assignment
• Both travelers and permanent staff must be separated from the facility for one year before returning as a traveler
• Facility maintains a natural nail policy
• Facility is a drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace
• Candidates must complete assigned orientation modules through the facility's Learning Exchange by the Friday of orientation week
• Facility will review all background check results prior to start
• Nursing degree must be from an accredited program (ACEN or CCNE), with diploma, Associate, or BSN graduates accepted
