Thrive Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Olathe, Kansas.

ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Scheduled Details

Position requires 12-hour night shifts from 1900 to 0730, with three shifts per week.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Critical Care, ICU, or Emergency Department.
• Strong critical thinking skills are essential.
• Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and performing lab draws independently.
• Comfortable managing patient care without a vascular access team, making consult calls, and conducting own codes.
• Experience with open-heart patients on Day 2 or Day 3, specifically with pacer wires.
• Patient care ratios: 3:1 or 4:1 at most.

License and Certification Requirements

• Current RN License in Kansas or Compact RN License.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification required.

Floating Requirements

Employees will be expected to float to ICU and all inpatient units—including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED—if they possess prior experience in these areas.

Weekend Requirements

Availability to work every other weekend is required.

Holiday Requirement

Travelers must work one holiday from each designated group:

• Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday
• Christmas Eve or Day
• New Year’s Eve or Day

Managers may approve the working of two major holidays if working three is a challenge.

Orientation Requirements

Orientation consists of two days at the primary location. Day 3 involves training at Olathe, followed by additional training on Days 4 and 5, which includes virtual Epic training.

Miscellaneous Notes

• Facility is nicotine-free.
• Orientation lasts for 8 hours and is non-billable.
• Current EMR system in use is EPIC.
• Bi-weekly pay periods.
• Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period without cost; a minimum of 2-hour notice will be given.
