Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• ICU setting within a short-term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds
• Level II Trauma Center
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
• Floating required between units and sister facilities
• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (OCN preferred)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line management, blood product administration, and arterial line management required
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care required
• Experience with dysrhythmia management and multisystem organ dysfunction preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct ICU nursing care including hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and critical medication titration
• Dress code requires solid navy blue scrub attire for licensed nursing staff
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer schedule changes may not be accommodated
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate, though local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Only one submission to a Providence facility allowed at a time
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role given the travel experience requirement
