Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring 2+ years of critical care experience, prior travel experience, and Trauma Level I background.

Details

• Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital ICU setting
• Cares for Cardiac ICU patients with overflow from MICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU, focusing on cardiology
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Unit has 23 staffed beds
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend with flexibility for unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Floating to other ICUs and boarder areas expected
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Compliance EKG Exam (TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2 years critical care experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required, at least 2 contracts preferred (will consider 1 contract)
• Trauma Level I facility experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• References must be from a direct supervisor, not a charge RN
• Skills required include arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, blood product administration, IV therapy, and cardiac drip titration
• Experience with CVICU, ECMO, IABP, Impella, and EVD management preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiac ICU patients and overflow cases from multiple ICU specialties
• Manager prefers to avoid placing travel pairs on the unit
• Facility-provided or solid color blue scrubs required
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
• RTO limited to no more than 6 days and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks or orientation week
• Prior UW/Harborview staff must have 18 months of separation before returning as a travel RN
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week pay period
