Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring critical care skills, EPIC experience, and a valid NY RN license.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population ranges from young adults to elderly with cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and GI diagnoses
• Manages patients on vents, titratable drips, and substance abuse withdrawal, as well as post-op patients
• Performs procedures such as A-lines, central lines, intubations, chest tubes, and open abdomen management
• Uses glidescope equipment
• EPIC charting experience required
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating required to Med/Surg unit
• Patient ratio of 1:3

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required, though candidates will be considered based on profile
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Proficient in critical care skills including arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, ventilator management, and interpretation of ABGs
• Skilled in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation/paralytics, and emergency medication administration
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol (Arctic Sun)
• Competent in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, fresh tracheostomy care, and ETT/NT suctioning

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing across cardiovascular, neuro, surgical, and medical ICU patient populations
• Wear scrubs in any combination of navy and white
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• First-time travelers will be considered based on candidate profile
• Previous employees eligible to return after a 6-month system-wide separation
