Registered Nurse – ICU

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00–07:00)
Schedule: Every 3rd weekend; holidays as scheduled
Patient Ratio: Days 1:3
Charting System: Epic
Float Required: Yes – within specialty/acuity
Call Requirement: None
Note: 2 years ICU experience required; first-time travelers accepted. ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required.

Position Overview:
Provide critical care nursing for adult and geriatric ICU patients with complex medical, neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and surgical conditions requiring advanced monitoring and critical care interventions.

Job duties:

• Provide comprehensive ICU care for patients with respiratory failure, pneumonia, post-cardiac arrest conditions, DKA, stroke, and surgical critical illness.
• Manage mechanically ventilated patients, interpret ABGs, and provide respiratory and airway support as clinically indicated.
• Manage patients requiring CRRT for renal failure and IABP support for acute myocardial infarction and cardiovascular instability.
• Administer continuous IV sedation and emergency medications while monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding to clinical deterioration.
• Perform central/PICC line care, IV therapy, blood product administration, dysrhythmia management, and infection-prevention measures.

Requirements:
License: Active MD or Compact RN License
Experience: 2 years ICU experience
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; AHA certifications required for applicable BLS/ACLS/PALS credentials
Other requirement: First-time travelers accepted; must be comfortable floating within specialty and acuity; every 3rd weekend required.

Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: ICU patients with stroke, renal failure requiring CRRT, MI requiring IABP, respiratory failure, pneumonia, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, Rotoprone therapy needs, and surgical ICU conditions.
