Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring CA licensure and the ability to float between specialty ICUs and Telemetry.

Details

  • Work in one of 4 ICUs specializing in Stroke/Neuro, Cardiac (Cath Lab, Open Heart), Trauma, and General (DKA, Sepsis)
  • Float between ICUs and Telemetry required, with preference for nurses experienced in multiple specialties
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred, though candidates with strong experience and less than 2 years may be considered
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with any electronic charting system required
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and care of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure patients
  • Proficient in IV therapy, arterial line and central line management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Experienced in continuous IV sedation administration
  • Skilled in respiratory/thoracic care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
  • Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties with flexibility to float as needed
  • Only 2 days of RTO approved for this assignment
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Local candidates accepted at the standard bill rate
  • Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Strict dress code enforced: no facial hair, no acrylic nails, no unnatural hair colors, all tattoos must be covered, no visible body piercings other than earrings, no facial or nose rings, and earrings may not extend beyond the earlobe or be hoops
  • Orientation includes facility modules averaging 3-6 hours depending on specialty
