ICU Nurse Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• At least 1 year of ICU nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience titrating critical care drips preferred and expected for success in this role
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and rotating weekends
• Comfortable caring for a broad range of ICU patients in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary team members

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing to adult and pediatric patients as assigned
• Monitor and titrate drips such as propofol, cardizem, insulin, precedex, and levophed
• Care for patients with respiratory failure, atrial fibrillation with RVR, detox needs, and other complex acute conditions
• Support occasional arterial line management and other ICU-level interventions
• Work closely with respiratory therapy and the interdisciplinary care team to support patient needs
• Float to medical-surgical care as needed when census is low
• Maintain safe, accurate documentation in EPIC and follow unit policies and standards
