Position Overview

As an ICU Travel RN, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring, advanced assessment, and timely clinical intervention.

You will collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to recognize changes in patient condition, implement appropriate interventions, administer medications and treatments, and support patients and their families throughout the continuum of care.


‍⚕️ Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and continuously monitor patient status.
  • Identify subtle changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders and nursing standards.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and other critical patient parameters.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members regarding patient care.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
  • Provide patient and family education and emotional support.
  • Respond effectively to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
  • Follow hospital policies, professional standards, and patient-safety practices.
  • Participate in occasional on-call coverage as required.


Required Qualifications

  • Active Colorado RN license – must be current at the time of assignment
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience
  • BLS certification required upon hire
  • Strong critical-thinking and clinical assessment skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced ICU environment


⭐ Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant Critical Care / ICU nursing experience
  • Telemetry experience
  • TNCC certification
  • ACLS certification – required within 3 months
  • PALS or ENPC – required within 6 months if the traveler remains on assignment for 6 months


Schedule & Call

This position offers a 3×12-hour night schedule, making it ideal for nurses who prefer longer shifts and more days away from work.

Occasional additional on-call shifts may be required, and holiday coverage is part of the assignment expectations.
