Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac ICU position requiring active MA licensure and advanced heart failure management expertise.

Details

• Cardiac ICU (CCU) unit supporting patients on mechanical circulatory support such as Impella, durable VAD, ECMO, and IABP
• 16-bed unit with a census of 16 and a clinician to patient ratio of 1:2
• Patient population includes multisystem failure with a specialty focus on advanced heart failure as well as fresh post-op cardiac surgical patients
• 36 hours per week, day/night rotating shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• BLS certification (AHA preferred; Red Cross accepted at most locations, some locations require AHA only)
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
• 2+ years of Level 1 trauma center ICU experience required
• Experience with mechanical circulatory support (MCS) highly preferred
• Expertise in advanced heart failure management required
• 1+ years of travel nursing experience required
• Primary source verification of license required within 30 days of start, updated upon expiration
• Both NURSYS and BON verification required for nursing license

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support to complex cardiac patients requiring mechanical circulatory support and advanced heart failure management
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
• Local candidates accepted if permanent residence is within 60 miles of the facility, with rate adjusted accordingly
• RTO must be disclosed at the time of consideration
• Uses UKG/Kronos for time keeping
