Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift ICU RN requiring 2+ years of ICU experience, open heart experience, and an active MI RN license.

Details

• Critical Care unit in a 404-bed acute care hospital
• ICU patient ratios of 1:2 (1:1 for special populations); step-down ratio of 1:4
• Floating required to Emergency Department and Step-down unit, including ED patients on holds
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required, with at least 2 shifts requested from each shift block
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required at time of submission
• Compact licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Open heart experience required
• Must be comfortable floating to ED and Step-down units
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS
• TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, and SCRN certifications are a plus
• Neuro surgical experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement patient care plans
• Delegate and oversee tasks for Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, and other support staff
• Evaluate effectiveness of care plans and adjust as needed
• Serve in a leadership role including precepting new employees and students
• Participate in patient care conferences and discharge/transfer planning
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates within a 35-mile radius of the facility are considered local travelers with adjusted pay rates
• Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested during the assignment
• Strict three-strike attendance policy in effect; excessive absences or tardiness may result in termination from the assignment
