Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring 1.5+ years of ICU experience and NM or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekend shifts required
• May float to Med-Surg, Stepdown, PCU, ER, or CVICU, capped at 4 patients maximum while floating

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required prior to start
• Current certifications: ACLS, NIHSS, and BLS (preferred)
• Minimum 1.5-2 years of ICU experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Experience managing continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and IV insulin protocols
• Preferred experience with EVD, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery management

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including those with respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and renal complications
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as locals are not accepted
• Previous staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travelers will receive a brief orientation when floating to other units
