Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a float position requiring a CA RN license, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certification, and at least 1 year of ICU experience.

Details

• Float Pool position within the ICU, with potential floating to other ICU floors or lower acuity units including telemetry
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Weekend requirement of at least every other weekend, likely to exceed this to meet unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• May float up to 100% of shifts to different ICU floors or sister facilities nearby
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required (CPI and MAB preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:2 required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac drip titration and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with IV insulin protocols
• Experience with GI surgery patients and infection prevention/isolation precautions

• Work in a 488-bed acute care hospital setting
• Must be willing to float to sister facilities as needed, with refusal potentially resulting in termination of assignment
• Must be open to working 3 of 5 major holidays
• Royal blue scrubs required for RN role

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• RTO must be submitted at time of application; minimal RTO requests are preferred to avoid delays in processing
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius accepted at a lower bill rate
• Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period
