Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring a compact or Oregon RN license and at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

  • Work in the ICU of a short-term acute care hospital with 418 staffed beds
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
  • Required to work at least every other weekend
  • Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
  • Floating between units and sister facilities based on skill set is required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Active Oregon RN license or compact license required and must be in hand at submission
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN and NIHSS preferred
  • Experience with ventilator management, arterial line management, and central/PICC line care
  • Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation; continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade experience preferred
  • Experience with CVA/acute stroke management; EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care preferred
  • Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with massive transfusion protocol and IV insulin protocols preferred
  • Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and Swan Ganz monitoring preferred
  • Must have a vehicle for this assignment
  • Must provide full SSN and DOB for submission
  • Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing services to ICU patients with complex medical needs, including renal, respiratory, neurological, and cardiovascular conditions
  • May float to other Providence facilities including Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent based on staffing needs
  • Additional incentive pay and mileage reimbursement offered for floating to Seaside, with hotel accommodations provided for consecutive float shifts
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
  • Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Local candidates accepted at the standard bill rate within a 50-mile radius
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Scrub color requirements vary by unit; ICU scrubs may be any color
