Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU position requiring an active IA or compact RN license, ACLS/BLS certification, and at least 1 year of ICU experience.

Details

• 10-bed general ICU currently combined with the Medical Unit, providing care to ICU, stepdown, telemetry, and med-surg patients when ICU volume is low
• Adult patient population with a 1:3 patient ratio
• Common diagnoses include DKA, ARF, CHF, CAD, and cardiac conditions
• Uses Mindray and Omnicell equipment with Meditech EHR documentation
• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to Med Surg and other units when needed
• No call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (Iowa or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA certifications required)
• Minimum of 1 year ICU experience required; travel experience preferred
• Preferred experience with general ICU care and cardiac drips
• Must be flexible and willing to assist across units
• Iowa SING background check required, including criminal and child abuse portions, with no instant or statewide searches accepted
• Mandatory reporter certification required (Child and Adult)
• 10-panel drug screening including opiates required
• Titers required within the last 12 months for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and TB
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a Level IV trauma ICU setting alongside a collaborative nursing team
• Scrubs of any color permitted; sweatshirts, sweatpants, and offensive clothing not allowed
• Maximum of 5 days RTO during the assignment
• Only candidates available to start within 30 days will be considered
• Monday or Tuesday start dates allowed
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate; local candidates within that radius may be considered at a local rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Must not be employed elsewhere full-time during the assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered with qualifying experience
