Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in a combined ACU/CCU unit, requiring at least one prior travel assignment and 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the ACU/CCU unit of a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 11 ICU beds
• Unit cares for both ICU and telemetry-level patients
• Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, post-cath and some surgical patients (vascular, abdominal, GI)
• Manages drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin
• Performs chest tube management, wound vac care, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring (does not pull sheaths)
• 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730) with alternate shift option (0700-1930)
• 36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to ICU-level or lower units throughout the hospital
• EPIC EMR used

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring required
• Art line, Impella, and/or IABP experience preferred
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment

Additional Information

• Provides critical care nursing to a mixed ICU/telemetry patient population
• Scrubs of any professional color permitted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
