Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced MICU RN for a Level III Trauma Center's 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU, requiring 2+ years of continuous MICU experience and telemetry competency.

Details

• 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU within a Level III Trauma Center
• Cares for adult patients with diagnoses including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day
• RN to patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg units
• Floating required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units
• 36 or 48 hour schedules available with EOW (every other weekend) requirement
• Night shift available (19:00-07:30) with no rotation
• Day positions rotate between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a shifts as needed
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience required, preferably in a MICU
• Must be able to read telemetry strips
• Telemetry competency required
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions accepted

• Provide critical care nursing to a diverse adult ICU population with high acuity needs
• Collaborate with attendings and residents present around the clock
