Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a TX or compact license for a night shift assignment requiring critical care skills and float capability to MS/Tele units.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 18:30 to 07:00
• 36 or 48 hours per week considered
• Required to float to MS/Tele units when ICU census is low, with ratios of 5-6:1 in that setting
• Cerner charting system used, prior experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC or TCAR
• 6 hours of stroke education required (training available if needed)
• EKG course completion required (training available if needed)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in critical care procedures including arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, and continuous IV vasoactive/sedation drips
• Experience with neurological critical care conditions such as CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery management preferred
• Experience with cardiovascular care including post cardiac surgery, TAVR, and sheath removal preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to complex ICU patients, including respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and renal cases
• Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screening upon arrival, including testing for marijuana; a positive result results in automatic cancellation
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
