Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with Telemetry capabilities, you will evaluate assigned patients and plan, implement, and document their nursing care. You will assist physicians during examinations and procedures, perform various patient tests, and administer medications, all within the scope of your practice. Your role will also involve promoting patient independence by establishing care goals and educating patients and their families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient conditions and implement nursing care plans.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Perform various patient tests and administer medications.
• Educate patients and families on care goals, medications, and self-care skills.
• Manage patient care following established protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrate creativity and initiative in problem-solving and patient care.
• Support critical care needs, especially related to cardiac drips and procedures such as TAVRs and Watchman mitral clips.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a PCU or critical care environment.
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) system is required.
• Ability to float between departments and facilities as needed.
• Familiarity with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 6:1.

Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts and the ability to work a total of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule.
