Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN-ICU with open heart post-op experience and an OH or compact RN license required.

Details

• 16-bed ICU within a 310-bed hospital
• Level III Trauma Center with a designated Neuro Unit for ischemic stroke patients receiving TPA
• Provides care to Open Heart post-op patients including CABG and Valve procedures
• Uses Impella, IABP, and CRRT for cardiovascular and renal support
• Cares for COVID-positive, prone, and post-cardiac arrest hypothermia patients
• Targeted ratios are 1:2 for Critical Care and 1:3 for Intermediate level patients
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• 13 or 18 week winter contract options available
• Must work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Floating required at facility discretion, including to other Premier Health campuses within 15 miles and to high-risk respiratory/COVID units
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license or compact license required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification through AHA required
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting
• Epic charting experience required
• Must be able to interpret vent, NIH, IV start, ICP, and conscious sedation strips
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, and cardiac drip titration
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and ICP monitoring preferred
• IABP and TAVR experience preferred
• No candidates with past license disciplinary action accepted

• Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiac, neuro, and multisystem organ dysfunction patients
• Facility offers Family Centered Care with no restricted visiting hours
• Customer service is emphasized as a top priority
• Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• RTO must be requested at time of submittal with a maximum of 14 days per contract; no RTO added after offer
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Previous Premier Health perm/PRN staff or prior agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying and require facility rehire approval
• Lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
