Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center, requiring 2 years of ICU experience and CT (compact) RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
• Average patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating required to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
• No call responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years accepted with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
• Skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, respiratory/thoracic care, care of ventilated patients, interpretation of ABGs, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• 1 reference required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemption only

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing services within a Level I Trauma Center environment
• Participate in isolation precautions and PPE protocols as part of professional practice
• Must be available to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous perm staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the facility are considered local
