Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift ICU RN requiring an active NY license, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certification, and 2+ years of ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a community hospital, including Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, and Burn care
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience highly preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and managing continuous IV sedation and paralytics
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and obtaining 12-lead EKGs
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and thermoregulation management (hypothermia/hyperthermia)
• Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE
• Phlebotomy skills required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across medical, surgical, and burn ICU patient populations
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and emergency medications as needed
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Previous employees eligible to return after a 6-month system-wide break in service
