ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position involves providing high-quality care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Number of Beds: 33 beds, with an average daily census of 16
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults
• Common Diagnoses: Trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent care, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress

Responsibilities

• Administer patient care and manage critical situations effectively.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data and document strips.
• Titrate drips as necessary including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation.
• Communicate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with safety and health regulations, including adhering to fingernail policies.
• Participate in orientation and training programs, including a pass/fail exam on skills learned.

Requirements

• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an ICU setting.
• Ability to float to other units such as PCU and MedSurg as needed, maintaining the same patient ratios.
• Must possess a valid driver's license for identification purposes.

Orientation and Scheduling

• Unit-specific orientation will encompass one shift.
• Self-scheduling options available for core staff, with travelers integrated into the schedule.
• RTO (Request Time Off) must be submitted upfront; additional requests not guaranteed after acceptance.
• Minimum of 2 holidays required per contract period.
