Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical ICU RN for a 13-week assignment requiring 2+ years of continuous MICU experience and active MA RN licensure.

Details

  • Level III Trauma Center's 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU
  • Treats adult patients with substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
  • Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day
  • RN to patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients
  • Floating required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units with ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
  • Day rotate shifts may include 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a rotations as needed
  • Night shift does not rotate
  • Every other weekend required
  • 36 or 48 hour options available
  • Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts RN license required, no conditional licenses accepted
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience required, preferably in a MICU
  • Telemetry competency required, including the ability to read tele strips

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Medical/Surgical ICU setting
  • Free on-site parking available
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
  • Local candidates permitted with permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston
