Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a minimum of 2 years of Medical and Surgical ICU experience for a night shift position requiring Epic proficiency and an active MA RN license.

Details

  • Community hospital ICU setting
  • Medical ICU and Surgical ICU patient population
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
  • Every third weekend required (Friday and Saturday)
  • Float to the ED for boarders on an as-needed basis
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • 36 hours per week position; 48 hours per week also available
  • Contract lengths of 13 or 26 weeks are accepted

Requirements

  • Active, permanent MA RN license required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, with both Medical ICU and Surgical ICU background
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Proficiency with advanced ICU skills including arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, continuous IV sedation and paralytic management, and interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias
  • Two professional references required, at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Two pass/fail exams are required during orientation: a medication exam and a telemetry/EKG exam — each allows only one attempt; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
  • Study materials are provided during the compliance process and facility orientation
  • Candidates must reside more than 200 miles from the facility to qualify for a travel assignment; local candidates within 200 miles are accepted at the same bill rate
  • Candidates who have worked within the health system must have a minimum 12-month separation before being eligible
  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be requested for review; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment
  • This is a union facility — no special scheduling accommodations can be made, and candidates must be available to work all 7 days of the week
