Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a fast-paced Inpatient Observation Unit requiring 2+ years of acute care specialty experience in a high-acuity Level 1 trauma setting.

Details

• Staff a 28-bed Inpatient Observation Unit located near the ED
• Care for medical beds, trauma overflow beds, and mid-hold patients ranging from lower to higher acuity
• Fast-paced environment with frequently changing patient acuity
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week
• May be required to float to other areas of competency
• Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of like specialty experience in an acute care setting required
• Proven experience in high-pressure, large-scale trauma environments
• Background in high-volume hospitals with diverse and severe cases required

• Work within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
• Holiday coverage is an expectation of this role
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel rate
• Block scheduling is generally not approved for this unit
