Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a float-heavy Stepdown/ICU position requiring at least 2 years of PCU/Stepdown/ICU experience and a valid SC RN license.

Details

• Hospital setting with 21-bed unit covering Stepdown, ICU, and Med-Surg departments
• Frequent floating across Stepdown, ICU, and Med-Surg units is required — candidates must be comfortable working all three
• Patient ratios vary by unit: Stepdown 1:4-5, ICU 1:2, Med-Surg 1:5-6
• Patient population includes vascular (fem-pop, CEA), NSTEMIs, post-cardiac cath with intervention, CIWA (IVP Ativan), peritoneal dialysis, stable BiPAP, heated high-flow <80%, home ventilators (Trilogy), wound care, and nebulizer treatments — HD performed in Dialysis Dept
• Non-titrating drips in use, including Amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, and Cardene
• EMR: Meditech
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Orientation held every Wednesday

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of PCU, Stepdown, and/or ICU experience required
• ICU experience is required in addition to PCU/Stepdown experience, as the role floats to the ICU
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• This is primarily a Stepdown role that frequently floats to ICU and Med-Surg units — comfort and flexibility across all three settings is essential
• Travel nursing experience is preferred
• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• 13-week contract
