Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/ICU RN for a night shift role requiring 2+ years of PCU/stepdown/ICU experience and frequent floating across units.

Details

• Stepdown unit role that frequently floats to ICU and MedSurg units
• 21-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:4-5 on Stepdown, 1:2 on ICU, and 1:5-6 on MedSurg
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• EMR: Meditech, experience preferred but not required
• Manages non-titrating drips including Amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, and Cardene
• Cares for vascular patients (fem-pop, CEA), NSTEMI, and post cardiac catheterization with intervention patients
• Manages CIWA patients receiving IVP Ativan (no Precedex)
• Provides peritoneal dialysis care and coordinates HD in the Dialysis Department
• Manages stable BiPAP, heated high-flow oxygen <80%, and home ventilators (Trilogy)
• Performs wound care and nebulizer treatments
• Floating required across Stepdown, ICU, and MedSurg units in rotation with staff
• Expected to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/stepdown/ICU experience required
• ICU experience required due to frequent floating expectations
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Experienced in cardiac drip and vasoactive drip titration
• Experienced in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experienced in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions
• Experienced with pacemakers and pre/post cardiac cath care including TR Band
• Meditech charting experience required

Additional Information

• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Must be comfortable floating frequently and working in both Stepdown and ICU environments
• Scrubs must be royal blue and white
• Orientation held every Wednesday
• Required to work every other weekend
• Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure to be considered
