Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC/ICU night shift role requiring 2+ years of experience, Cerner proficiency, and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Work in the IMC unit with potential floating to the ICU unit
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required, totaling 6 weekend shifts in a six-week period
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license - MD license or compact license accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
• Prior ICU experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
• Flu vaccine required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in an intermediate care/telemetry setting with possible ICU floating responsibilities
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and perform dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Perform IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Provide respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, and tracheostomy care
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
