Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU) position requiring 2+ years of critical care/telemetry experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown) unit of a hospital environment
  • 24 staffed beds with an average daily census of 24
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • 12-week assignment length
  • Floating required to other units and to sister Integris facilities within a 75-mile radius
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Patient ratio of 1:4

Requirements

  • Active RN license (OK state or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • EKG course/telemetry test required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
  • Current critical care and telemetry experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skills required include IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and interpretation of arterial blood gases
  • Current, valid driver's license or state-issued ID required for consideration
  • Utility bill in the traveler's name with matching address (dated within the last 3 months) required for consideration
  • Two supervisory references required for consideration
  • Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care to intermediate care/stepdown patients including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and renal cases
  • Responsibilities include cardiac drip management, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care), wound care, and post-cardiac catheterization monitoring
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • First-time travelers are not accepted; candidates must have at least 1 year of travel nursing experience
  • Local candidates are not accepted
  • Maximum RTO of 5 days per 13-week assignment, with no holiday RTO permitted
  • Candidates who were previously employed at this health system must have at least 1 year of separation before being eligible
  • Block scheduling requests are not accommodated
  • Any gaps of 3 months or more in work history must be explained
