Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit position requiring at least 2 years of experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit of a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM), 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Weekend rotation required
• Floating required
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of relevant IMC/stepdown nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry
• Experience with insulin drip titration, wound care, and isolation precautions

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown setting including cardiovascular, neurological, renal, and orthopedic patient populations
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Must complete onboarding modules and core requirements within 48 hours of contract signing, completed onsite during orientation
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for this travel position
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• All RTO must be listed at time of consideration
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
