Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for an IMC/IICU position requiring at least 2 years of RN experience and prior ICU/IICU experience with a 1:3 acuity ratio.

Details

  • Work in the Intermediate Care/Intermediate Intensive Care Unit (IMC/IICU) of a regional community teaching medical center
  • Adult patient population includes trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases requiring monitoring or interventions every 1-2 hours
  • Unit receives direct admissions, ICU transfers, and escalations from Rapid Response Teams
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • Special equipment available includes Hercules patient re-positioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
  • 13 or 26 week contract options available
  • Weekend requirement of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule period
  • Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Floating to other qualified units or campuses required based on census needs
  • EPIC EMR used, 1 year of experience required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (SC or multistate/compact)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 completed travel assignment
  • Prior ICU/IICU experience with acuity of at least 1:3 required
  • First-time travelers considered with 3+ years of specialty experience and critical care experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
  • Ventilator experience required
  • Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
  • Must work at least 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)

Additional Information

  • Provide monitoring and interventions for adult patients with trauma, medical, surgical, and neurological conditions
  • Facility is a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and is Magnet-recognized for nursing excellence
  • Home to advanced specialty programs including cardiac care, stroke, and vascular services
  • Progressive care experience in settings such as PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown will be considered based on unit acuity
  • Pre-assignment testing and required modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login information
  • Orientation occurs every Monday
  • Radius requirements apply and determine travel pay rate eligibility
