Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or a compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience in cardiac telemetry, PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Telemetry testing required prior to start
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Strong rhythm interpretation skills, including recognition of lethal rhythms and heart blocks
• Ability to work in a high-acuity environment with a patient ratio of 4:1
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult cardiac and telemetry patients in a stepdown environment
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to telemetry findings
• Care for patients recovering from coronary angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker procedures, and cardiac catheterization
• Manage patients with heart failure, dysrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, and post-procedure cardiac needs
• Administer vasoactive medications and support management of cardiac drips per unit guidelines
• Perform monitoring and care related to arterial lines, central lines, TR bands, and post-cardiac access sites
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, recovery expectations, and self-care instructions
• Float as needed and support unit needs in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
