Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) Telemetry position requiring 2 years of cardiac stepdown experience and night shift availability.

Details

  • Work in the IMC/Medical-Surgical stepdown unit specializing in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery
  • Care for patients including CABG, femoral bypass, thoracotomy, VATS, and CEA pre/post-op cases
  • Manage patients requiring Cath Lab procedures such as STEMI/NSTEMI and coronary artery disease
  • Treat CHF exacerbation, symptomatic and asymptomatic bradycardia, and various dysrhythmias including Afib/Aflutter, SVT, and Vtach
  • Care for pacemaker patients (temporary or external) and hemo/pneumothorax cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:4 based on a safe staffing acuity matrix
  • 16 staffed beds with an average daily census of 16
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Floating required to other units and sister Integris facilities within a 75-mile radius as needed

Requirements

  • Active OK state or compact RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
  • 1:4-5 patient ratio experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • EKG course/telemetry test completion required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line care
  • Experience with cardiac drip titration and heparin protocols preferred
  • Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Current, valid driver's license or state-issued ID required
  • Utility bill in candidate's name with matching address dated within the last three months required
  • Two supervisory references required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for cardiac stepdown and IMC-level patients requiring close monitoring
  • Respond to and support rapid response/code team activations as needed
  • Maximum RTO of 5 days per 13-week assignment, with no holiday or blackout date requests permitted
  • Block scheduling requests are not accommodated
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
  • Floating required to other Integris facilities within a 75-mile radius
  • Former Integris employees must have a minimum 1-year separation from the health system to be eligible
