Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC Stepdown position requiring DC RN licensure and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Work in the IMC (Intermediate Care/Stepdown) unit of a hospital setting
• PCU/IMC/Stepdown patient population with telemetry monitoring
• Rotating shifts available: Day (3x12, 7:00-19:00) or Night (3x12, 19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• 13-week assignment at 36 hours per week
• Cerner EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required (pending DC license accepted with proof of application at time of consideration; must have license in hand prior to start)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience within the last 7 years
• At least 1 previous travel assignment required for consideration
• Experience in PCU/IMC/Stepdown and telemetry settings required
• Skilled in management and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience caring for ventilated patients required
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and care of ventilated patients
• Complete a facility-specific EKG Rhythm Interpretation exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, must be submitted upfront
• Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a lower rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Manager interviews are not guaranteed; candidates should be comfortable proceeding without one
