Job Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• BLS and NIHSS required
• ACLS preferred
• Experience in telemetry, stepdown, PCU, IMC, or DOU strongly preferred
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, and rapid response support
• Comfort with ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, and advanced respiratory support
• Experience with central lines, PICCs, arterial lines, ports, and phlebotomy
• Excellent assessment skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced patient flow environment
• Ability to float within scope as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality care to adult cardiac stepdown and intermediate care patients
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to support timely clinical interventions
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac procedures, MI, cath procedures, and cardiac surgery
• Manage IV therapies, blood products, heparin protocols, and vasoactive/cardiac drips as assigned
• Support patients with complex respiratory needs, including tracheostomy and ventilator-related care
• Perform wound care, line care, and other advanced stepdown nursing interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, rapid response teams, and interdisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold excellent clinical standards in Cerner
• Adapt to a high-throughput, team-oriented unit while delivering compassionate patient care
