Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• BLS and NIHSS required
• ACLS preferred
• Experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, intermediate care, or progressive care preferred
• Ability to care for adult patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions
• Comfort using Cerner or similar electronic health record systems
• Must be able to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for adult patients with cardiac and complex medical needs
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Manage cardiac, vasoactive, and other drips within unit guidelines
• Care for patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and other advanced needs as assigned
• Perform comprehensive assessments and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Support patients recovering from cardiac procedures, stroke, neurosurgical, renal, and other acute diagnoses
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to promote safe patient flow
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and communicate clearly with the care team
• Float as needed within scope to support unit and hospital operations
